The DEC meeting convened at 6:02 PM on October 10, 2023, with the District Director presiding.
Members present were: Sarra Idehen, Annette Krause, Kandi Kutkas, Sameer Deshmukh, Michael Hachigian, Maria Cervantes, Richard Carr, Peggy Carr, Debbie Crutchfield, Meg White, Al Kunz, Deborah Whitman, Steven Schofield, Tammy McMorrow, Pamela Lattin, Christine Groberg, Janine Donald, David Garbrecht, Bryan Dowdy, Jaysee Jimenez, and Vy Nguyen.
Members absent were Trevor Nelson, Madeline Armendariz-Odeh, Greg Alvord, and Lionel Furness.
The following items were discussed:
- Approval of minutes of the 9/12/23 minutes postponed until next month.
- Recap of DC voting results – past meeting minutes approved, district officers confirmed/approved, district budget approved, and hybrid speech contest method approved for area, division, and district speech contests.
- Review of operational documents – Concur, District Incentives and District Dollars – with suggested changes, these documents will be uploaded to District 15 website.
- Division/Area Councils, Club Success Plans, and Area visits Division A – Next Council meeting October 19, 2023, 7:30 PM
- Division B – Next Council meeting October 17, 20223
- Division C –Council meets monthly. Met October 6, 2023, next meeting November 4, 2023, 8:30 AM
- Club Success Plans – Ok to submit on District 15 website or TI website in Club Central.
- Area Visits: Currently at 14% complete district wide. Kudos to D1 and D3 Area Directors, Janine Donald and David Garbrecht who have completed 75% and 80% of their club visits respectively.
- Club Coach – Kudos to Dave Morrison for completing his club coach work with Strong Women’s Legacy and helping lead the club to President’s Distinguished as of 6/30/2023.
- All DivD/AD positions filled and 100% trained.
- District 15 submitted required plans (communications, marketing, district success plan) and district budget to TI by 9/30/23.

- Fall Awards Event – hosted by Division A – October 21, 2023, 6:00 PM. Award Nominations due 10/13/23. Let Trio know if your division is planning a Social after the Awards Ceremony
- Club Officer elections due soon for semi-annual terms of club officers taking office on January 1
- Semi-annual clubs: Jack C High, Parkway Pontificators, Dynamic Club, Idaho Falls Club, Utah Valley Club, Gateway Toastmasters
- Area Director reports 1st round due 11/30/23
- Winter Club Officer Training, December 9, 2023, 9:00 AM – 12 PM
