The DEC meeting convened at 6:02 PM on January 9, 2024, with the District Director presiding.
Members present were: Sarra Idehen, Annette Krause, Kandi Kutkas, Sameer Deshmukh, Deborah Whitman, Meg White, Madeline Armendariz-Odeh, Steven Schofield, Pamela Lattin, Christine Groberg, Al Kunz, Bryan Dowdy, Richard Carr, Peggy Carr, Tammy McMorrow, Maria Cervantes, and Debbie Crutchfield.
Members absent were Trevor Nelson, Lionel Furness, Janine Donald, Jaysee Jimenez, Vy Nguyen, and Michael Hachigian.
The following items were discussed:
- DCP Progress: Ten clubs completed at least 5 DCP goals by December 31, 2023, and are eligible to be included for the $75, $50 and $25 District Dollars drawing. Clubs were Pioneer Club, Jack C High, Strong Women’s Legacy, Sunrise Club, More Toasting. More Doing., Metro Toastmasters, Image Masters Toastmasters, Lone Peak Toastmasters and Olympic Orators. Eligibility of Eagle Toastmasters to be determined.
- Make up Officer Training: Saturday, January 13, 2024, 9:00 – 11:30 AM MT. Email sent to clubs with 3 or less officers trained to encourage attendance. Zoom room opens at 8:30 AM.
- Club Coach and PR Templates – Website updated to include club coach and volunteer sign up forms/resources. Go to district15speaks.com – Resources – Club Coach and Mentors. Club Coach meetings every Thursday 4PM MT for clubs needing coaches with additional meeting on Mondays at 5 PM MT. Cadence for these support meetings will be established next week to include a Monthly forum for clubs with more than 12 members. PR Templates available at district15speaks.com – Resources – Club Coach and Mentors – Public Relations Resource. Includes PR PowerPoint and over 40 templates. Email sent to all members of D15.
- District 15 Member Satisfaction Survey Results – reviewed results. Copy of survey results to be sent to DEC members.
- District Success Plan – Highlighted focus of the success plan – quality clubs, increased member payments, club coach program, health of existing clubs (ABCD clubs), recognition and celebration of achievement, strengthening existing clubs, increased communication (website and social media) and chartering new clubs. Copy of District Success Plan to be sent to DEC members.
- Trio working with TI coach to complete District Growth Plan. To be completed by 1/31/24. List of clubs identified as ABCD clubs to be sent to DEC members.
- Next 60 Days – Makeup training for club officers – 1/13/2024
- District Leadership Committee – Call for officer nominations 1/15/24
- Club Speech Contests begin February 1 – Mar 31
- Second round Area Visits
- Talk Up Toastmasters Membership Campaign begins February 1 – March 31
