The Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award represents the highest level of educational achievement in Toastmasters.

To achieve the status of DTM in Pathways a toastmaster must

  • Complete two learning paths.
  • Serve as a club officer for 12 months, participate in the preparation of a Club Success Plan, and participate in a district-sponsored club officer training.
  • Serve a complete one-year term as a district officer.**
  • Serve successfully as a club mentor or coach.**
  • Serve successfully as a club sponsor or conduct a Speechcraft or Youth Leadership program.
  • Complete the DTM project. (Members are required to create and implement a project of their own design, in which they demonstrate the skills and expertise they have gained.)

The Toastmaster of the Year award is given to a member who best exemplifies Toastmasters International values in supporting the District mission. They excel in a variety of leadership and communication; educational; and marketing and public relations activities. They are enthusiastic, dedicated, and are there to mentor their fellow toastmasters to success.

The official District 15 Giant of the District was first inaugurated in 1994. It was created by the District Council to honor and recognize those members of the District when it is merited by a lifetime of contributions to the development and growth of the District. This award takes 15 years of service to be qualified.  Over the years, individuals have been recognized with the Giant of the District award for various reasons: some for their contributions in roles of leadership, some by working unselfishly in the background and some as the result of their outstanding achievements in speaking and communication. This award takes 15 years of consistent service to be nominated.

It was created by the District Council to honor and recognize those members of the District who have made significant contributions to the development and growth of the District. This award takes a minimum of 10 years to qualify for.  Over the years, individuals have been inducted into the Hall of Fame for various reasons: some for their contributions in roles of leadership, some by working unselfishly in the background and some as the result of their outstanding achievements in speaking and communication.

The Sid Smith Award is given to a member who has shown exceptional leadership during the last Toastmasters year. This award goes to a Toastmaster of District 15 who has shown excellence in Leadership, serving on committees, and/or other support roles within the district. This award is named for Sid Smith – District Governor – 1976-1977, International Director – 1978-1980.
