We are currently communicating via email and text. The Division will meet as a team to discuss what information was given during the DEC monthly meeting and the Division Director will write a summary email to be sent to the Area Directors to distribute to their clubs with important District news, dates, activities and deadlines. Area Directors are expected to pass this information promptly to their clubs. Club officers meet twice a year with Division Director and Area Directors the 4th Thursday in October and 4 Thursday February. Examples of topics included: Area visit reports, updating club and Area success plans, dates for officer trainings and speech contests, membership drives, and the DCP review their progress. The Area Director will bring the information to the club to discuss with officers.
Educate Clubs on Club awards so they know what is available to them to encourage participation from clubs. Such as membership drive awards, membership retention awards, educational awards, ect.
The District is asked to help with:
Clear and timely communication on District 15 news, dates, and deadlines.
The Division plan to pursue opportunities to develop leadership:
Encourage Area Directors to have their own assistant, pay attention to those who are interested in leadership, invite them to district training so that they know what to expect.
The Division plan to expand opportunities for Leadership:
Division and Area Directors will visit clubs and offer feedback on how to keep club meetings fun and interesting. Directors will listen to club officers\' perspectives on membership challenges and offer innovative and effective suggestions for future growth and member retention.
The Division plan to get 75% of club officers trained:
Actively reach out to find make-up trainings or trainings from other districts to accommodate member\'s time. Stress the importance of the DCP, hold the club accountable for achieving their plan.
The Division plan for starting New Clubs:
At this time, approximately 50% of Division D clubs are struggling with membership on the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our focus this year will be on member retention and increasing new member numbers in existing clubs.
When attending club meetings or meeting with club officer talk about the membership drives and District 15 incentives to encourage more participation from clubs in growing membership.
The Division plan for achieving education awards:
Encourage detailed Club Success Plan and Area Visit reports as much as possible to help clubs establish their vision for the new fiscal year. Directors should work closely with club VP Education officers to make sure they understand how to track and encourage member progress in Pathways.
Area Directors to educate clubs on Individual Member awards for achieving goals, and club recognition.
When attending meetings discuss with clubs what appropriate Humorous, Tall Tales, International speeches are. Discuss proper strategies on how to create the speech for contests and time limits for each.
